In the year 1972, Father Bernardo Hurault and Father Ramón Ricciardi, diocesan priests and missionaries in Chile, decided to begin the adventure of bringing the Word of God closer to culture and, above all, to the people of Latin America. The text of the Biblia Pastoral Latinoamérica (or the Latin American Pastoral Bible traditionally known as the Latin American Bible) began to emerge. The Latin American Bible was born thanks to the concern of Father Bernardo and Father Ramón, but also to the passion for the word of God of Bl. James Alberione (1884-1971), Founder of the Pauline Family, who was already been received at the Father’s house. Blessed Alberione founded in 1924 the Sociedad Bíblica Católica Internacional (SOBICAIN) or in english, the International Catholic Biblical Society (SOBICAIN). Its mission is to encourage the Pauline Biblical apostolate in the world: to bring the word of God to all peoples and peoples, promoting and supporting new editions and translations of the Bible. This Society was approved by the Holy See in 1960, by the Pontifical Brief Similes Litteras, of Pope John XXIII. For more information you can read this article prepared on purpose. Link.
