The Mystery Man: The Jubilee Exhibit

Only a few women and Joseph of Arimathea saw at the tomb the tortured body of Jesus, who died on the cross. Only four or five people in history have clearly contemplated every wound caused by the thorns and the Roman scourge – every broken bone, every brutally torn wound, every pore of the skin, every hair dirty with sweat and blood, each bruise of a torso then covered with a white linen cloth. Just four or five people… so far. We say “so far” because it is precisely this, contemplating the body of Jesus “pierced for our crimes”, as Isaiah had prophesied, which allows the international exhibition The Mystery Man, inaugurated on Thursday in the Spanish cathedral of Salamanca. In the coming years the exhibition will move to the five continents and will be present at events such as the World Youth Day in Lisbon 2023 or the Jubilee of Rome in 2025.
