Of Death and of Life: Turin Spirituality’s On Its 19th Edition

Since 2005 to the present day, each edition of Torino Spirituality is a stretch of a common path, a path of understanding developed in the hundreds of meetings scheduled each year and guided each time by a different theme. From hope to memory, from gift to smile, from breath to choice, the common thread of the event is the desire to investigate the ethical and spiritual dimension of the human being as a necessary moment to enter into relationship with others and open new paths to knowledge. The 19th edition of the Festival is scheduled from Wednesday (September 27) to Sunday (October 1). This year’s theme is “To the absent: Of death or of life.” “Death dismays us because its power turns everything into nothing and yet the awareness of death is also what gives meaning to our destiny, making life an urgent and precious good. Therefore, an edition to try to get to know a little better the features of this “foreign” companion and try not to exorcise, domesticate or spectacularize them with too many masks. Rather, we would like the five days of the festival to be an opportunity to let ourselves be provoked by their presence and perhaps give shape, however vague, to their mystery,” explains Armando Buonaiuto, curator of Torino spirituality.
