Arabic-speaking Churches welcome a new Bible

A round table broadcast by Radio Maria on November 10th involved some of the protagonists of the new edition of the Bible in Arabic available from November 26th: Abuna Jean Azzam, a Lebanese Maronite, the main coordinator of the work; Father Francesco Voltaggio, a biblical scholar of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem; Father Giacomo Perego, a biblical scholar of the Society of Saint Paul; Father José Pottayil, director of the International Catholic Bible Society, who supported and financed the work and now ensures its distribution; a Catholic couple, Marco and Gloria (an Italian and Palestinian Arab respectively). The dialogue not only revealed the background to the creation of this precious edition, but also the specific characteristics of the Bible. Carlo and Gloria’s testimony is very touching, showing how the Word continues to become flesh today, illuminating the steps of each person’s history.
