Massimo Recalcati on the Bible and Psychoanalysis

Massimo Recalcati is a renowned Italian psychoanalyst who lives and works in Milan. His scientific activity has been articulated around some fundamental guidelines: the analysis of contemporary psychopathology and eating disorders; the study of the teaching of Jacques Lacan; the reflection on the figure of the father in the hypermodern era; the analysis of the relationship between politics and the discomfort of contemporary civilization, between psychoanalysis and artistic creation. Currently, his interest is oriented towards the study of the relationship between psychoanalysis and Christianity, with a particular attention to the entire biblical world. Since 2016 he has been the scientific director of “Kum!Festival – Care, Educate, Governa” in Ancona. From this initiative was born the desire to create an open place in which to reflect on the theme of care and its different practices. Since 2018 he has been scientific director of the Turin Festival of Psychology. Among the monographs dedicated to the Bible we remember: The law of the word.
