Paul’s prison in Caesarea discovered.

he Israel Authority for Nature and Parks has allowed us to be the first to record from inside the recently discovered prison in Caesarea, where the Apostle Paul was imprisoned. This prison was larger than the one seen today, including an additional room of the same size. Dozens of people could have been incarcerated in this space. Inside the prison, a clay inscription from a later prisoner was found, which read: “Lord (Jesus), help Procopia.” Paul spent about two years in this prison. St. Paul did not write letters in the prison in Caesarea, but he did in the prison in Rome, because divine providence wanted him to spread Christianity in the Western world as well. As we read in Acts 23:11 “The following night the Lord stood by him and said, ‘Take courage, for as you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.’” To read more click here!
