Rediscovering the Themes and Symbols of the Easter Season

Pope Francis in his Easter Vigil homily of March 2016 reminds us that “the Lord is alive and wants to be sought among the living. After having found him, each person is sent by Him to announce the Easter message, to awaken and resurrect hope in hearts burdened by sadness (…) As joyful servants of hope, we must announce the Risen One by our lives and by our love.” But, what is Easter?  In his article in the Catholic Spirit, Father Michael Van Sloun explains in comprehensible terms some of the themes that we find present during the Easter season.
