In a meeting with the Catholic Biblical Federation (CBF), in the Hall of Popes in Vatican, on Monday, 17 November 2025, Pope Leo XIV emphasized the fundamental importance of making Sacred Scripture accessible to all, especially to younger generation living in a digital age. Speaking to a gathering of biblical scholars, pastoral ministers, Church leaders, and Catholic Biblical Federation representatives, the Holy Father, highlighted the 60th anniversary of Dei Verbum, the Dogmatic Constitution on Divine Revelation. Pope Leo XIV expressed heartfelt gratitude to those present, including Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle and Cardinal Kurt Koch and the CBF colleagues from around the world who serve the Church’s mission of biblical ministry, particularly in diverse and changing cultural contexts. He recalled that Dei Verbum “is unequivocal,” in reminding believers to “hear the Word of God with reverence and proclaim it with faith” (Dei Verbum 1). The Pope underlined the Council’s mandate for “easy access to Sacred Scripture” (Dei Verbum 22) for all Christian faithful, especially the young generation.
