INext January 25th will mark the Sunday of the Word of God. This year’s theme is drawn from the Letter to the Colossians. In preparation, we are releasing an introductory video to serve as a simple guide for its reading and reflection he video opens by presenting an icon that encapsulates the letter’s theological core: it depicts the Lord nailing to the cross the decree that stood against us. We see the Father’s hand offering His Son to humanity. Christ on the cross, “made to be sin” for our sake, absorbs the sickly greenish hue of the debt-claim (the chirograph) written against us, cancelling it through His death. The redeemed, now justified in Christ, turn their gaze toward the Father, confident that the hand of the accuser no longer holds power over them.
