Our invitation to read the Bible is born out of the fruitful collaboration between SOBICAIN (International Catholic Bible Society) and the Aletti Centre. Each week we will offer key elements for reading a book of the Bible by means of a brief introduction and an Icon explained. In this video the icon presents king David, shepherd and guide of his people (2Sam 7). King David is called by God to guide his flock, protecting it from the enemy beasts. He is an image of the shepherd of Israel who finds full realization in Jesus, Son of David. Christ, who came to earth, is the Good Shepherd who takes the lost sheep upon himself to bring it back to the Father.
