Our invitation to read the Bible is born out of the fruitful collaboration between SOBICAIN (International Catholic Bible Society) and the Aletti Centre. Each week we will offer key elements for reading a book of the Bible by means of a brief introduction and an Icon explained. In this video the icon presents the martyrdom of the seven brothers with their mother (2Mac 7). United in the same gaze, the mother and her sons trust in the One who gives breath and Life. Emulating the Crucified Christ, the last son is sacrificed on the altar by the oppressor. He remains faithful, trusting that his murdered brothers are kept in the hand of the Father for a Life that does not die.
