Training “Let There Be Light” Bible Pauline Letters

Colossians: Full letter audio commentary

Colossians: Full letter audio commentary

In celebration of the Sunday of the Word of God, we are pleased to share a full reading and commentary of the Letter to the Colossians (Col 1). Part 1 and Part 2 were originally broadcasted on Radio Maria by biblical scholar Giacomo Perego.

Entrusted to Tychicus — “a dear brother, faithful minister, and fellow servant in the Lord” — the Letter to the Colossians has two primary objectives: to help discern the will of God through a deeper knowledge of Him, and to encourage a way of life that reflects the new life in Christ. Tychicus likely travelled alongside Onesimus: the former carrying the letter to the community at Colossae, and the latter bearing the letter to Philemon. Both were written by Paul and Timothy while in prison in Ephesus, where the Apostle was held in chains along with Epaphras, Aristarchus, Prisca, and Aquila. This took place around 54–55 AD.
