Our invitation to read the Bible is born out of the fruitful collaboration between SOBICAIN (International Catholic Bible Society) and the Aletti Centre. Each week we will offer key elements for reading a book of the Bible by means of a brief introduction and an Icon explained. In this video the icon presents the Gideon’s Prophetic Dream (Jdg 7,9). The barley loaf, a symbol of the bread of heaven, overcomes evil with the meekness of the Lamb. Through the dark colors of the tent, the confusion of the Midianite camp is glimpsed, an image of the enemy forces defeated not by human power, but by the action of God. Evil, which attacks and divides, implodes on it.
