Our invitation to read the Bible is born out of the fruitful collaboration between SOBICAIN (International Catholic Bible Society) and the Aletti Centre. Each week we will offer key elements for reading a book of the Bible by means of a brief introduction and an Icon explained. In this video the icon presents the union in God between Tobit and Sarah (Tb 8). The Archangel Raphael, pointing to the Holy Spirit as the source of communion, leads Tobit to Sarah, manifesting God’s Providence over them. Tobit offers Sarah the fish a Christological symbol, which both drives away the demon and healing. The woman, then walks toward her husband and, praying, receives him as a gift.
