Is the AI Bible still a Bible?

It has great appeal among Americans under 30, but it definitely makes theologians wrinkle their noses: this is AI Bible, the YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok channel that tells the story of the Bible through short films made with artificial intelligence.Dragons, apocalyptic landscapes made of flames and dark clouds, angels emerging in stormy skies. All of it is enriched with special effects worthy of a Marvel movie. The point, however, is that we are not talking about the next Avengers film, but about the episode on the Apocalypse found on the US channel AI Bible. The idea comes from Pray.com, a for-profit company that calls itself “the world’s number one app for faith and prayer.” The goal is to talk about God to Generation Z, and to those under 30 in general, using a language that has particular appeal to them: that of superheroes, video games, and binge-watching series. The problem is that there are no superheroes in the Bible, and the story of salvation has little or nothing to do with a video game or the language of the fantasy world. Watch here.
