Pune, India – Pauline Sister Antonette Scholstin Jesumani FSP successfully defended her doctoral thesis titled Mission Powered by Audacity and Hope: Paul as a Model – An Exegetical and Theological Analysis of Acts 9:19b-30 and 2 Cor 3:1-18 on Tuesday, 28 October 2025, at Jnana Deepa Institute of Philosophy and Theology (JD), Pune. Her outstanding performance earned her a PhD with distinction, marking a significant academic milestone.
Sister (Dr) Antonette’s research explored the transformative zeal of Saint Paul, examining how his faith-driven courage and hopeful spirit continue to inspire Christian mission today. Through deep exegetical and theological analysis, she presented Paul as a paradigm of audacious discipleship and unwavering hope in the face of challenges. In her defence she said Paul continues to be the model for her own Pauline mission as he was the model and inspirer of Blessed James Alberione, the Founder of the Pauline Family. The public defence drew members of the Pauline Family, professors, students, campus superiors, and community members of Jnana Deepa. Their presence reflected deep admiration and pride for Sister (Dr) Antonette’s achievement and her contribution to Pauline scholarship.
