The LIBER 2025 International Book Fair, which is traditionally held in Barcelona or Madrid, remained a key showcase for the Spanish book industry. Its 43rd edition, organised by IFEMA MADRID and sponsored by the Federacion de Gremios de Editores de España (FGEE), took place at Feria de Madrid from 7 to 9 October 2025. As one of the most significant international gatherings, the event covered all book sectors, with a special focus on digital content, new publishers, editor, and intellectual property. This year the fair hosted 458 publishers from 50 countries. Notably, SOBICAIN exhibited for the first time, partnering with San Pablo Communication, Spain. We proudly displayed copies of all our Bibles in various formats and languages, drawing considerable interest from visitors and enthusiasts. This presence allowed us to connect and interact with many relevant industry professionals, including Bible publishers, printers, distributors, and the general public. During the Fair, SOBICAIN held focused meetings with the directors of the eleven San Pablo bookshops from the Colombia-Ecuador-Panama Province, a session expertly planned and coordinated by the Provincial Director General. We also distributed free promotional materials, such as bags, 2026 pocket and wall calendars, brochures, and the new SOBICAIN catalogue. This year’s productive experience has been a strong motivator for the future , prompting us to begin planning for an even more focused and creative participation in the next years edition.
The Frankfurter Buchmesse (FBM), or Frankfurt Book Fair, is recognised as the world’s largest book fair based on the number of publishing houses represented. During the event, the first three days were reserved exclusively for trade professionals, with the general public attending over the weekend. This year’s 77th edition was held from October 14 to 19, drawing 4,000 publishing houses from 90 countries. It is estimated that approximately 200,000 people attended the Fair, comprising both exhibitors and visitors. SOBICAIN participated for the first time in its history, exhibiting alongside Edizioni San Paolo (Italy) and San Pablo Communication (Spain). We beautifully displayed copies of all our Bibles. Our primary goal was not focused on buying or selling rights, but rather on securing presence and visibility at such a high-profile event. A memorable incident involved the first visitor to our stand: a Chinese citizen who immediately sought to purchase the Chinese edition of our Bible after seeing it on display. Since we were unable to sell it at the start of the Fair, we were pleased to gift it to them on the closing day. Throughout the Fair, we also hosted several visitors representing publishing houses, printing companies, and distributors. Overall, this inaugural experience was extremely positive, strongly encouraging our continued participation in future events of this magnitude.
