The Latin American Biblical-Pastoral Institute of the Corporación Universitaria Minuto de Dios (UNIMINUTO, Bogotá), in collaboration with the Catholic Biblical Federation (FEBIC LAC), offers the online diploma course “Biblical Animation of Catechesis.” This is a training program designed to place the Word of God at the heart of catechetical processes, aimed at catechists and pastoral agents serving in parish or diocesan settings. It runs from September 3 to December 3, 2026, on Thursdays from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM (Colombia time).
Objective: To provide the biblical, pastoral, and didactic foundations for catechetical programs developed in the spirit of the biblical animation of pastoral ministry, fostering catechetical processes rooted in the Word.
Modules: From biblical pedagogy to an enriched catechetical didactics: incorporating *Lectio Divina* into catechesis, criteria and methods for integrating biblical texts into catechetical sessions, and the catechist’s biblical spirituality. Sacred Scripture in Catechesis: the foundations of the relationship between the Bible and catechesis. The Word as the source of catechesis (General Directory for Catechesis) and the Biblical Animation of Pastoral Ministry: what it is and the role of catechesis within it. Catechesis in Sacred Scripture: how the people of the Bible—and the early Church in particular—carried out catechesis; the settings and forms of catechesis in ancient Israel, catechesis in the Gospels, and early learning in the origins of Christianity. Key topics of biblical formation in initiation catechesis: the Commandments, the Sacraments, and the Christian life as discipleship.
