“Invitation to Read the Bible” is a project born from the fruitful collaboration between Sobicain (International Catholic Biblical Society) and the Aletti Center; each week, we offer key insights for reading a specific book of the Bible through a brief introduction and an explanation of the icon that opens the book. In the icon, we see Baruch who transmits the word of consolation. Baruch, Jeremiah’s disciple, listens to the prophetic words of the master and rewrites them for the people. In the dark color lies the drama of the exile, a crucial time of conversion for Israel. Through the two prophets, the red scroll of God’s love continues to sustain the hope of their return to the promised land.
