“Invitation to Reading the Bible” is a project created through the fruitful collaboration between Sobicain (International Catholic Biblical Society) and the Aletti Centre. Each week, we offer the key elements for reading a biblical book through a brief introduction and an explanation of the icon that opens the book: the Annunciation of the angel to Mary (Lk 1). The angel Gabriel brings Mary the announcement of the incarnation of the Father’s Word within her. The scroll clothing Mary is of the very same color of light as the angel’s. By welcoming Him, Mary weaves flesh for the Word, thus fulfilling the mystery of God’s Wisdom, who has pitched His tent among humanity, making it His dwelling place.
