“Invitation to Read the Bible” is a project born from the fruitful collaboration between Sobicain (International Catholic Biblical Society) and the Aletti Center; each week, we offer key insights for reading a specific book of the Bible through a brief introduction and an explanation of the icon that opens the book. In the icon, we see the the annunciation of the angel to Mary. The angel Gabriel brings Mary the announcement of the Incarnation of the Father’s Word within her. The scroll clothes Mary in its own color of light. Mary, in welcoming the message, weaves flesh for the Word, thus fulfilling the mystery of God’s Wisdom, who has pitched His tent in humanity, making it His dwelling place.
