Rediscovering the Themes and Symbols of the Easter Season
Pope Francis in his Easter Vigil homily of March 2016 reminds us that “the Lord is alive and wants to be sought among the living. After having found him, each person is sent by Him to announce the Easter message, to awaken and resurrect hope in hearts burdened by sadness (…) As joyful servants of hope, we must announce the Risen One by our lives and by our love.” But, what is Easter? In his article in the Catholic Spirit, Father Michael Van Sloun explains in comprehensible terms some of the themes that we find present during the Easter season. Catholicspirit.com is…

Why Does the Date for Easter Change Each Year?
Easter is the most important feast for Christians. and etymologically means “step” or “passage”. What is behind this term? Why do we eat lamb at Holy Week? Why is this solemnity associated with eggs? And why is the date of Easter not fixed like Christmas, but changed from year to year? What are the reference texts that allow us to understand what happened on this day? And again: why does the Pope give the blessing “Urbi et orbi” on Easter day? These and other questions are answered by a beautiful article in the weekly Famiglia Christiana. Read it here..

Adam and Eve, the Tower of Babel, the Big Bang, the Passion of Christ, and many others: not everyone can put in song concepts and references so high with knowledge of the cause to question our destiny, especially if you have 24 years as Anastasio. At the heart of his song, Babele, is the biblical pages where we find the language, the “logos”. Babel collapsed because everyone spoke different languages, and language had become alienated from itself and…

Lectio Divina and the Teachings of Bruno Secondin
Lectio divina has its roots in the Scriptures. It was also long practiced in monasteries. Today it is also known as “reading by faith” where one makes a reflective pause and prayerful listening of a passage from the Bible, done either alone or in a group. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the experience of meditation and silence, contemplation and sharing, allow the Word to become a source of grace. Not only that, it becomes a prayerful dialogue, an appeal to conversion, a prophetic proposal, and a horizon of hope. It is not pure technical study, exegesis research, or biblical…

Geremia: Non so parlare perché sono giovane
